Save the date for our next Masterclass on 19-20 November 2027 in Venice, Italy organised in cooperation with the Oncology Reference Center CRO Aviano
Within the field of GI oncology, the role of a multidisciplinary approach involving medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists and gastroenterologists is increasingly recognized. The European Society of Digestive Oncology (ESDO), founded many years ago, has as its mission to provide high-level education across multiple medical disciplines, through webinars and scientific events held in person with leading international experts, together with other educational activities.
The annual ESDO Masterclass is now a well established scientific event, reaching its twelfth edition this year. This event has never previously been held in Italy, and we believe that bringing it to our country can provide an important scientific contribut ion to the Italian oncology community, as well as to other related medical disciplines. Italian and international experts will be present to provide updates on the most relevant advances in targeted therapies and immunotherapy in gastrointestinal and pancreatobiliary cancers.
The event will also provide an opportunity to critically discuss some of the still controversial issues in GI oncology. We believe that opportunities for exchange and discussion such as this, characterized by a multidisciplinary approach and an international and Italian faculty, are extremely valuable, and we hope to see more such initiatives in the coming years.

The 10th Anniversary ESDO Masterclass in Nantes (19–20 June 2026) organised in collaboration with CHU Nantes and FFCD has come to a successful close. Over two days, participants and faculty explored new approaches in digestive oncology, from bench to bedside, fostering scientific exchange, collaboration, and education across disciplines
Talks focused on the most recent advances in Digestive Oncology, with a particular emphasis on the novel approaches, especially concerning treatments including immunotherapy, targeted therapies, radio-nuclide therapies and personalized treatments, as well digestive cancer prevention.
The meeting included both, fundamental and clinical sessions, aiming at better understanding the mechanisms that govern digestive carcinogenesis and anti-cancer therapy. It will be based on interactive, multidisciplinary sessions, during which the latest knowledge and experience will be shared among the Scientists and Clinicians involved in digestive cancer patients’ management, with participation of the most prominent European experts in the field.
